Justin Dash develops surveys and observational/interventional data collection systems within Qualtrics and serves as the database administrator for RTI HS’s Qualtrics environment. Mr. Dash’s expertise includes automated computer-assisted self-interview system development, secure web-based electronic data capture and reporting systems, mobile device data collection systems, and various tools to assist site staff with participant recruitment and retention. He has over 2 decades of experience developing, maintaining, and validating clinical and nonclinical database management applications and environments.

Prior to joining RTI HS, he was employed at Family Health International (FHI 360) where he served as a data systems programmer. One of his achievements was to deploy and support a multilingual, audio-based, client-administered survey system in Kenya and South Africa. He also built, validated, and deployed an in-house system for collecting and reporting serious adverse events for multiphase clinical trials. The web-based system is designed to collect and notify study and safety team members in real time upon receipt of a report of an serious adverse event to facilitate the reporting of these events in a timely manner.

In addition to application development, Mr. Dash served as administrator in FHI 360’s 2 clinical data management systems, ClinTrial and OpenClinica. He has developed and conducted data management trainings and workshops for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) International Clinical Sciences Support Group as well as Good Clinical Practice trainings, workshops, and site assessments in Africa, Asia, and the United States. In previous positions, Mr. Dash developed, maintained, and automated various UNIX-based shell scripts for engineering staff. He designed (via PHP, HTML, JavaScript, Perl, and PostgreSQL), built, and maintained an Apache web server with a PostgreSQL back-end database to house their web-based document management system for use by employees internally and abroad.
