Siddharth Karanth is a medical doctor with graduate training in epidemiology and health services research. Dr. Karanth has worked in various observational studies, including clinical and population-based research. He has expertise working with large databases such as SEER-Medicare, National and Texas State Medicare, Commercial insurance, Medicaid, National Inpatient Sample, and MEPS. He has also worked on clinical data extracted from electronic health records and Vizient’s hospital database. Due to his training in medicine, Dr. Karanth has worked in various medical specialties such as hematology-oncology, neurology, pulmonary and critical care medicine, and infectious diseases. He is well versed in epidemiological methods, study designs, statistical analyses, health economics and outcomes research, cost-effectiveness analysis, and decision modeling. Dr. Karanth also routinely serves as a peer reviewer to scientific journals. His research has been presented at numerous national and international conferences. Before joining RTI-HS, Dr. Karanth was a senior statistician at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston McGovern Medical School. At the University of Texas, Dr. Karanth had designed and created an extensive registry of COVID-19 patients treated at the university’s affiliated hospitals.
