Hasan Basarir has more than 15 years of experience in conducting economic analyses in health care and extensive experience in decision-analytic modeling, patient-reported outcomes, and statistical analysis. Dr. Basarir is involved in health technology assessment submissions in both the public and private sectors and has served as a member of an Evidence Review Group for the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence in the United Kingdom (UK). He has worked in therapeutic areas including diabetes, dermatology (atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, lupus, psoriasis), oncology (non–small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, multiple myeloma), neovascular age-related macular degeneration, cluster headache, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, ulcerative colitis, asthma, endometriosis, and radiology. Dr. Basarir is an associate editor of International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care and a member of ISPOR and Health Technology Assessment international. He acted as the vice chair of a Diabetes UK research steering group for 6 years. He has published his work extensively in some of the other leading journals in the field, including The BMJ, The Lancet, Medical Decision Making, Value in Health, and PharmacoEconomics. He also acts as a reviewer for academic journals and the health technology assessment submissions for the National Institute for Health and Care Research in the UK.
